We understand that sometimes you don’t want to go to someone and talk about your thoughts and feelings– and that’s totally okay!! Everyone has different levels of comfort, below are some helpful apps that you can use:

  • Stress:
  • Headspace- This app is great for meditation, falling asleep, focusing, inspiring stories and workouts. It starts with a free trial but after that you will be charged $12.99/month.
  • Calm– This app has meditation, sleep stories, breathing programs and relaxing music. The bare minimum content is free but is limited to very few options. If you’d like lots of options, the upgrade costs $15/month.
  • 10% Happier- This app actually has real people teaching you how to meditate and has EXCELLENT reviews. It costs $11.99/month and $124.99 annually.
  • Insight Timer- This is a really great app with multiple functions. It has over 30,000 guided meditations, calming music, manages sleep stress and anxiety, and even live talks about meditation. An additional amazing aspect is that you can create a community with your friends or random people or choose to stay completely anonymous!! This app is FREE!!!
  • Stop, Breath and Think Kids- This app helps children develop skills of sleep, being calm, and resolving conflicts all while reducing stress through the delivery of fun games! It also addresses overexcitement, caring characteristics, disappointment and sadness. This app is $11.99/month or $58.99/year.
  • Simple Habit- This app is great for on-the-go meditation, all you need is 5 minutes. The app costs $16/month and $130 annually.
  • HealthyMinds Program- This app was designed with students in mind, managing their stress on campus and within their everyday lives. Its open for everyone to use, you do not have to be a student. This app is fully FREE!
  • Anxiety:
  • Mindshift- This app is really good for anxiety management and very teen accessible, the best part is it’s FREE!
  • CBT Thought Record Diary- This app teaches you Cognitive Behavioral Theory and how you can apply it to your thoughts and feelings. This app is partially free and somewhat tricky. When you first open the app, you’ll get a pop-up page that looks like you can’t exit out of asking you to subscribe, you can exit out of it you just have to know to scroll down (wouldn’t seem like there would be more but there is). The subscription costs $3.32/month or $39.99 annually.
  • What’s Up- This app helps cope with anxiety, depression, stress and life’s unexpected events. It takes you through a series of questions to pinpoint where your emotions are at and what feelings you’re experiencing. It is a FREE app, the only costs associated with it are donations.
  • Depression:
  • Talkspace online Therapy- This app is based in the US so it might be a little bit difficult to connect with someone locally but it’s desgned to connect you with an online therapist which you can contact as many times during the week as you wish. The app costs $49/week
  • Happify- They describe this app as a fast track to a good mood. This app is honestly really good, there are lots of different options and mental health areas you can use it for. This app is FREE or if you wish to upgrade to premium it is $19.49/month, $179.99/year or $599.99 for life
  • Moodtools- This app helps to navigate a recovery from clinical depression. It is $1.26 for the first month and then $24.18/month after.
  • Addictions:
  • Twenty-four Hours a Day- This app helps with the recovery period from an addiction. It is fully FREE!
  • Quit That!- This app not only helps you recover from addiction but it also helps you get yourself out of bad habits. That can be anything from smoking to alcohol to spending money on a coffee every time you go out. This app is FREE!
  • Rehab Spot- This is not an app but instead a really amazing website that provides viewers with amazing information in all regions of alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids and other drugs with information regarding use, warning signs, overuse and treatment. They also have a great list of rehab centers but the sight is based in the United States. They also have great resources for families of people that are using drugs.
