    • There are many branches to the CMHA that specialize in recovery programs such as Bounce Back (focusses on preventative measures for adults mental health), Confident Parents: Thriving Kids (Teaches parents how to effectively coach their children through various behavioral problems), Healthy Minds Healthy Campus’ (Supports students in post-secondary with their mental health), Homeless Shelter (Provides care 24/7 through beds, meals and support workers), Understanding Addiction (online training to support people who are supporting others with addiction) and much more!!

  • Sandstone Counselling
    • Sandstone counselling offers information on other counselling services in the area, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, PTSD, grief, chronic pain and more! They also do online tele-counselling and provide information on the different types of counselling.

  • TRU Wellness Center
    • This agency is only available to post-secondary students at Thompson Rivers University. They offer a number of events and programs such as: Mindful Meditation (every Tuesday), Therapy Dog Thursdays (Virtually you can hangout with some dogs for half an hour), Wellness in Your House (every Wednesday), Youth Mindfulness Program (runs for 7 weeks and teaches you how to reduce stress and anxiety), and so much more!! If you’re a student, they are an awesome place to check out!

  • Interior Health
    • Interior health is just like it sounds. They offer services throughout interior BC which include: prevention and early intervention to people at risk of a mental health disorder, substance use crisis, hospitalization, counselling (including community and group counselling), treatment recovery and support, and mental health assessment and treatment.

  • TRU Counselling
    • This is limited to post-secondary students at Thompson Rivers University. They offer full counselling services, right now they are offering online services.

  • Healing Spaces
    • They provide counselling services to children, youth, adults, couples, parents and families. They also help with chronic pain, violence, addictions, trauma, grief, mental health and relationships.

  • Elizabeth Fry Society
    • The Elizabeth Fry Society protects youth and women through non-profit work. Their goal is to provide a safe community through supporting people in housing, education and diverse needs of marginalized groups. We want to reinforce that they are a SAFE SPACE and provide their services for FREE!

  • Children’s Therapy and Family Resource Center
    • They provide therapy for children and youth (up to 19 years of age) and support their families as well.

  • Twin Rivers Counselling
    • This counselling office is run by a private practitioner whos mission is to provide her clients with a safe space to solve their fears, insecurities and troubles. She mainly works with individuals and couples.

  • Kamloops Sexual Assault Counselling Center (KSACC)
    • They offer counselling, community based victim services, information and resources for victims of sexual assault. Best of all, It’s FREE!! They also have a quick exit button to ensure your safety from potential abusers that takes you right to googles main page.

  • Secwépemc Child & Family Services Agency
    • This agency is a “fully delegated aboriginal agency” that focusses on protecting children in the seven co0mmunities within the Secwépemc Nation. They provide a safe, family-centered practices that uphold the culture and ways of being and knowing of the Secwépemc.

  • Ask Wellness
    • Ask Wellness provides a number of services from housing, education, health, emotional support, support services for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C. They are inclusive and client centered!

  • Interior Community Services
    • Interior Community Services provides their services to all, old and young. They are a non-profit and are dedicated to enriching the lives of their users through family support, life skills, prevention, affordable housing. They run programs specific to babies (helping families learn how to care for them, they have one specific to children and youth with adverse needs as well), attachment, youth (housing, shelter, justice, safe spaces, intervention), community living (independent living, housing for individuals with disabilities, community connection), Food center (cook together, a program that teaches you skills you need to cook, meals on wheels), training and education (suicide prevention, an education program to help adults get their Dogwood Diploma or upgrade their older transcript courses), more housing (they have nine different housing options, one of which is only available to seniors), and finally seniors services (home support, meals and housing).

  • Metis Commission for Children and Families of BC
    • They focus on Metis specific processes that bring the community together and ensure the cultural safety of their users is met. They don’t directly do child welfare but they ensure that the Metis children in the welfare system are being treated culturally safe through court cases, planning with the family and more.
